A Beginner's Guide to the Server
Welcome to True Vanilla, a pure survival Minecraft experience with no teleportation systems, no land claims, and no pay-to-win features.
What is True Vanilla?
True Vanilla is a semi-anarchy Minecraft server focused on true vanilla gameplay. That means:
- 100% vanilla Minecraft mechanics
- No teleport commands like
/home,/warpor/tpa - No claiming or protection systems
Players are free to explore, build, compete, or cooperate as they choose.
Joining the Server
To join the server:
- Open Minecraft: Java Edition
- Go to Multiplayer
- Click Add Server
- Enter
True Vanillaas the "Server Name" - Enter
mc.truevanilla.netas the "Server Address" - Click Done
- Select the server in the server list, and click Join Server
Make sure your Minecraft version is 1.21.11, 26.1.2 or 26.2.
World Info
- No resets
- 100k wide worldborder, or until +/-50k
- Difficulty is set to Hard
Rules
Before playing, read the server rules thoroughly.
Your First Day
On your first session:
- Move far away from spawn (spawn areas typically have more players, which can be both positive and negative)
- Gather essential resources (wood, food, tools)
- Find a safe spot to set up a base, preferably near a village
- Record your coordinates externally, e.g. a notebook or a waypoints mod
Discord
Join the Discord server to get updated with the latest news and talk with other players. We have over a thousand members, and it's where most of the community spend their time outside of the game.
