True Vanilla:Terms of Service
True Vanilla Terms of Service
Last updated: September 25, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to True Vanilla and its related services, including the Minecraft server, website, Discord community, forums, and other services operated by True Vanilla (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using any of the Services, you agree to follow these Terms and the True Vanilla Rules. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Services.
1. Using True Vanilla
True Vanilla is a community Minecraft server intended to provide a vanilla survival experience.
There is no minimum age imposed by True Vanilla itself. However:
- If you are 12 years old or under, you may only use the Services with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms and the Rules on your behalf.
- You are responsible for complying with any age requirements or other terms imposed by third-party services (such as Minecraft, Microsoft, or Discord) that you use to access True Vanilla.
You are responsible for making sure that your use of True Vanilla complies with these Terms, the True Vanilla Rules, and any applicable third-party terms.
2. TrueVanilla.net and Related Services
True Vanilla is associated with and operates services under the truevanilla.net domain and its subdomains.
The True Vanilla Services may include the main website, Minecraft server, wiki, forums, blogs, and other services made available under the truevanilla.net domain.
Where a service is not clearly identified as part of True Vanilla, its own terms or notices may apply.
3. Rules and Other Requirements
The True Vanilla Rules, published at www.truevanilla.net/wiki/Rules or true.vg/rules, form part of these Terms and apply to gameplay and community conduct.
The Rules contain the detailed, day-to-day requirements for playing on True Vanilla, including the current Allowed and Prohibited Mods List and specific gameplay restrictions such as those on griefing.
You are responsible for checking the current Rules and these Terms, and for keeping up to date with any changes to either. True Vanilla may update the Rules or these Terms when necessary, and continued use of the Services after a change is published means that the updated version applies to your continued use of the Services.
Attempting to circumvent a rule, exploit a loophole in its wording, or deliberately achieve an outcome that the Rules or these Terms are intended to prohibit may be treated as a violation.
4. Fair Play
True Vanilla aims to maintain a fair vanilla gameplay environment.
You must not use a client, modification, program, script, hardware, or other method that provides an unfair advantage over other players.
The specific modifications and features that are permitted or prohibited on True Vanilla are listed in the Allowed and Prohibited Mods List, published at www.truevanilla.net/wiki/Allowed_and_Prohibited_Mods_List.
If you are unsure whether something is allowed, check that list, or ask staff, before using it.
5. Griefing and Player Builds
Griefing rules, including any protected areas or protected structures, are set out in the Rules.
Except where the Rules say otherwise, protecting your own builds, items, and property from other players is your own responsibility.
Where an action is found to violate a griefing restriction set out in the Rules, staff may, at their sole discretion, restore or roll back the affected build, items, or area. This is not a guarantee or an entitlement, and True Vanilla is not obligated to restore or compensate for any loss.
6. Accounts, Ban Evasion, and Account Responsibility
You may use alternate Minecraft accounts on True Vanilla. There is no general restriction on the number of alternate accounts you may use.
However, no account, alternate account, VPN, proxy, or other method may be used to evade a punishment or restriction placed on another account. Ban evasion includes, but is not limited to:
- Accessing True Vanilla through another account, VPN, proxy, or similar method for the purpose of avoiding a ban;
- A banned player personally playing on True Vanilla through another person’s account, even if that account is not itself banned; and
- Asking another person to play on your behalf, or on your account, to get around a ban.
You are held fully responsible for your account(s), and for your IP address or the network you play on. This applies regardless of who else may have access to your account, device, or network, and True Vanilla may take action against an account based on activity connected to it.
True Vanilla may restrict or ban accounts that are reasonably determined to be associated with ban evasion.
7. Community Conduct and Moderation
Users are expected to follow the community and conduct requirements contained in the True Vanilla Rules. This includes avoiding behaviour that seriously disrupts the Services or community, including harassment, threats, malicious disruption, and other prohibited conduct.
Moderation decisions, including what action (if any) to take in response to a given incident, are at the discretion of the staff member or moderator handling it. There is no fixed escalation path (for example, no required warning before a mute, or required mute before a ban), and staff are not required to apply the same action to similar incidents.
True Vanilla may take action where conduct substantially affects the True Vanilla community or Services, including conduct occurring through associated community platforms.
8. Trading and Real-World Trading
Normal in-game trading between players is permitted, subject to the True Vanilla Rules.
Real-world trading, buying, selling, or exchanging Minecraft accounts, in-game items, currency, ranks, or services for real-world money or goods outside of official Mojang/Microsoft channels, is governed by, and must comply with, the Minecraft End User License Agreement (EULA), available at minecraft.net/en-us/eula. True Vanilla does not permit any trade or exchange that would violate the Minecraft EULA.
Items or other in-game property may be removed as part of moderation or enforcement action. True Vanilla may also remove duplicated, exploited, illegally obtained, or otherwise prohibited items.
9. Purchases and Refunds
True Vanilla may offer optional purchases through its store, including ranks, cosmetic items, and other perks.
All purchases made through the True Vanilla store are, and will only ever be, cosmetic. Purchases do not provide any gameplay advantage over non-paying players.
All purchases, including but not limited to ranks, cosmetic items, in-game currency, and services, are considered digital content and are generally final and non-refundable once delivered.
Refunds may only be provided where required by applicable law, or at the sole discretion of True Vanilla.
Attempting or completing a chargeback, or otherwise reversing a payment made to True Vanilla outside of these Terms, will result in a permanent ban of the associated account(s), along with the forfeiture of any purchased ranks, items, or other perks.
10. Enforcement
If you violate these Terms or the True Vanilla Rules, authorized staff may take appropriate action against your account.
Depending on the circumstances, enforcement may include:
- Kicking you from the server
- Temporarily banning your account
- Permanently banning your account
- Removing items or other in-game property
- Removing builds or other changes
- Rolling back affected changes
- Restricting access to particular features or Services
- Taking other reasonable action necessary to enforce the Rules
Staff may consider the circumstances of an incident, available evidence, previous violations, and attempts to circumvent the Rules when deciding an appropriate punishment.
A punishment does not need to be listed word-for-word in the Rules for staff to take action where the underlying behaviour clearly violates the purpose of the Rules or attempts to circumvent them.
True Vanilla may also take action against associated accounts where reasonably necessary, particularly in cases involving ban evasion or other forms of abuse.
11. Evidence and Investigations
True Vanilla may use information available through its Services when investigating suspected rule violations.
This may include server logs, screenshots, recordings provided to staff, Discord information, reports from players, automated detection, moderation records, and other relevant evidence.
Users must not intentionally interfere with investigations or attempt to destroy, falsify, or manipulate evidence relating to a suspected violation.
12. Ban Appeals
Bans may be appealed through the official True Vanilla Discord ticket system.
Only bans are subject to the formal appeal process. Other enforcement actions, including item removal, kicks, and other restrictions, are not required to have a formal appeal process.
Submitting an appeal does not automatically suspend or reverse a punishment.
True Vanilla may accept, reject, or modify an appeal based on the circumstances and information available.
13. Server Availability, Player Progress, and Virtual Property
True Vanilla currently has no plans to reset its worlds. However, this is not a guarantee that player progress will always be preserved.
Technical failures, bugs, corruption, crashes, infrastructure problems, unintended events, rollbacks, exploits, moderation or enforcement action, or other circumstances may result in the loss, removal, or alteration of items, inventories, builds, statistics, currency, or other in-game progress.
Information and virtual property associated with True Vanilla are provided as part of the Services and should not be treated as guaranteed, permanent assets. True Vanilla is not required to restore lost items or progress. Where appropriate, staff may restore or correct affected data at their discretion, but restoration is never guaranteed.
True Vanilla is not responsible for losses resulting from server issues, account restrictions, rule enforcement, technical failures, or other circumstances outside its reasonable control.
14. Service Changes
True Vanilla may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue parts of the Services when reasonably necessary.
This may include changes to server software, gameplay mechanics, website functionality, Discord systems, infrastructure, or other features.
True Vanilla will make reasonable efforts to avoid unnecessary disruption, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
15. Third-Party Services
True Vanilla relies on third-party platforms and services, which may include Minecraft, Discord, Cloudflare, hosting providers, analytics services, payment providers, and other infrastructure or community platforms.
True Vanilla is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by third-party services unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Your use of third-party services is also subject to their own terms and policies.
True Vanilla is not responsible for changes, outages, restrictions, or actions taken by third-party services.
16. User Content
You remain responsible for content that you submit, upload, or communicate through the Services.
This may include messages, screenshots, reports, forum posts, suggestions, and other content.
By submitting content to True Vanilla through its Services, you grant True Vanilla a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, store, and display that content where reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, secure, or improve the Services.
This does not transfer ownership of your original content to True Vanilla.
17. Disclaimer
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
True Vanilla does not guarantee that the Services will always be available, error-free, secure, or free from interruptions.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, True Vanilla is not responsible for losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Services, including loss of in-game items or progress.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, True Vanilla's total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Services, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to the total amount you have paid to True Vanilla in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or £0 if you have not made any payment to True Vanilla.
True Vanilla is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary losses, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of in-game items, currency, or progress, even if advised of the possibility of such losses.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits True Vanilla’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless True Vanilla, and its staff, moderators, and volunteers, from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of or connected to:
- your breach of these Terms or the Rules;
- your misuse of the Services; or
- your violation of any applicable law or the rights of a third party.
This does not apply to the extent a claim results from True Vanilla’s own negligence or wilful misconduct.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court or other authority of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.
21. Governing Law
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute or claim, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
22. Changes to These Terms
True Vanilla may update these Terms when necessary.
The "Last updated" date at the beginning of this document indicates when the current version was published.
You are responsible for reviewing the current Terms and Rules. Continued use of the Services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
23. Minecraft Disclaimer
True Vanilla is an independent Minecraft server and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang Studios or Microsoft.
"Minecraft" and related trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
True Vanilla is operated independently and is subject to the applicable Minecraft usage requirements.
